Heather M. Schultz received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Florida. She completed her Masters of Science in Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Heather joined ºÚÁÏÍø Urology in 2006 and has served as Adjunct Faculty for the ºÚÁÏÍø School of Nursing since 2007. She is a member of the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and specializes in providing care to patients with genitourinary malignancies.
Heather is a member of the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates (SUNA) and co-chaired the organization’s Cystoscopy Task Force. As part of her work with the task force, she helped create national guidelines in Cystoscopy for which she received the President’s Award from SUNA in 2012. Heather is also a member of the American Urological Association (AUA) and serves on the organization’s Non-Physician Provider Education Committee. In May of 2014, she assumed the role of Vice Chair of this committee and become the Chair in 2016. In 2011 she received the NP Nursing Care Excellence Award from the ºÚÁÏÍø.
Education remains an interest of Heather’s and she enjoys the honor of speaking at the annual AUA and SUNA meetings to fellow advanced practice nurses and physician assistants.
