About
Dr. Dave brings his community-engaged health equity research to outreach and partner with health disparity populations in research to the CRA. His research focuses on 1) addressing adverse social determinants of health associated with chronic diseases to foster health equity and 2) evaluating multi-level, multi-component, complex programs and initiatives. Dr. Dave collaborates with community-based organizations to identify health priorities, leverage his community partners’ lived experience and expertise, and implement structural interventions to mitigate health disparities.
Dr. Dave has over 20 years of experience in health equity research, implementation science, and program evaluation. As an NIH Coordinating Center MPI, he oversees the implementation of community engagement (including recruitment/retention) and evaluation of 130+ community-engaged COVID-19 testing projects across the United States. He is the PI of two NHLBI R01 and one NIDDK U01 implementation science studies to increase the acceptability, uptake, and implementation of chronic disease evidence-based programs in rural North Carolina.
