Katharine McGinigle, MD, MPH

Kate McGinigle is a board-certified vascular surgeon-scientist. She received her Medical Degree and Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina. She went on to complete a residency in general surgery at ºÚÁÏÍø and then a 2-year fellowship in vascular surgery at Duke University.
Since joining the Department of Surgery at ºÚÁÏÍø in 2015, she has focused her clinical and research work on patients with peripheral artery disease and complications of diabetes. She has been the principal investigator on multiple funded research projects and has also been the site PI for multiple clinical trials. She has had leadership roles in multiple professional organizations including the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Society, the Vascular Quality Initiative Patient Safety Organization, the American Limb Preservation Society, and the International Society for Women Vascular Surgeons. She serves on the editorial board of Surgery and is a reviewer for multiple other medical journals including JAMA Surgery and Journal of Vascular Surgery. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her two children.

Christina Zhou, MS

Christina is a doctoral student in the department of Biostatistics. Her research areas of interest are precision medicine and survival analysis. She helps the lab with statistical analyses. In her free time, she likes to play with her puppy Chimmy, swim, and dance.

 

 

Sydney Browder

Sydney is a fourth year cardiovascular epidemiology student at the ºÚÁÏÍø Gillings School of GlobalÌýPublic Health. Her primary research interests are PAD/CLI, health disparities, epidemiologic methods, and preventive care. In her free time, Sydney is an avid sports fan and head coach of the ºÚÁÏÍø Women’s Club soccer team

 

 

Moussa Shahoud

Moussa is a third-year medical student with a strong background in working with underserved populations. With a passion for vascular surgery, Moussa dedicates his time researching PAD presentations and disease burden among different populations. Outside of work, Moussa enjoys playing chess and tennis.Ìý

 

 

Ray Cheever

Ray is an MD-PhD student currently pursuing the second year of his PhD in nutrition at the ºÚÁÏÍø Gillings School of Global Public Health. His primary research interests are nutrition, wound healing, health disparities, and the care of older adults. In his free time, Ray enjoys swimming, cooking, and painting.
