This day event is for children ages 6 & under who have survived burn injuries and their immediate household family members. 2025 will be our first one-day event for our youngest survivors and we are so excited! The day will offer a variety of exciting experiences for the littles, but also the family members who were by their sides throughout the injury, healing, and survival process.

Who: Burn Survivors ages 6 years and younger + immediate household members

When: Saturday, June 14, 2025 (9:30am program start – 11:30 lunch meetup – 12:30 water and sand area meetup)

Where: Ìý433 W. Murray Avenue, Durham, NC 27704 (parking is free)

What:

  • Gathering time and small animal activity by Museum staff (up close or observe from a distance); concurrent adult coffee & chat time (children visible to adults at all times)
  • Lunchtime meetup (vouchers provided)Ìý (bring those water bottles!)
  • Water & sand play meetup at (bring clothing you are comfortable getting wet in, and a change of clothes!)
  • Additional afternoon meetups could be planned, too!
  • Full entrance to all exhibits at the museum is included to enable your family to mix burn center meetups alongside spending time on your own
