Survivor Events
Just as burn wounds heal differently, emotional and psychosocial recovery from a burn injury is unique to the individual. Whether an adult, a child, a family member or a friend, the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center offers a variety of aftercare support opportunities to bring survivors together to share, to listen, and to find hope and inspiration. In addition to meeting other burn survivors, skills and strategies may be offered to assist the survivor in meeting the daily challenges of life after a burn.
Some events focus on the needs of children, some on the needs of parents and some on the needs of the family. Regardless of where you are in your recovery, these opportunities are available to you.
For the burn team, what better way to learn how to best provide for the needs of patients than to learn from them? All aftercare events are open to burn care providers.
