Dear Teammates,
I hope that you and your families enjoyed a happy Holiday Season. Each year on Christmas, my family enjoys spending time together and taking our time exchanging gifts and opening presents in a way that is as relaxed as possible. In what can often be a hectic season, I always value the opportunity to slow down and spend quality time with those most important to me.
Having time to reflect on the past year, a few things stand out. Most recently, seeing the impacts of Hurricane Helene and how you cared for people in their times of need, touching the lives of so many in our state and beyond, is a memory I will truly never forget. As I look ahead, I know we will continue to care for people in different ways when and where they need us. I’m excited by the progress we are making on the many active initiatives of our Forward Together 2030 Strategic Plan that will help us better care for our patients and support our teammates.
As Ralph Waldo Emerson famously said, “What lies before us and what lies behind us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
The last year has once again confirmed that what lies within each of you individually – and our system collectively – is a deep commitment to serving our patients, supporting each other, and doing all we can to fulfill our mission.
The positive change we strive to make in the new year will be the culmination of many small moments. The compassion you show to patients and the ways you go above and beyond to providing a healing environment. The ways that you walk with them through stressful times and celebrate each positive step in their journey. The way teams work creatively to support each other and find innovative ways to solve problems. From my position, I am privileged to see and hear these stories often and no matter what challenges the next few months might bring I know it is the compassion and strength within each of you that will help us meet our mission this year. It is truly an honor to be a part of this One Great Team.
Sincerely,
Wesley
