The Department of Radiation Oncology would like to congratulate nurse practitioner Jayne Camporeale, MS, RN, OCN, ANP for being recognized as a Carolina Care Allstar of the Year for Fiscal Year 2020. This is a ºÚÁÏÍø Health-wide recognition for receipt of superior evaluations from our patients and excellence in clinical service. Jayne was selected from a pool of over 150 nominees!

Radiation oncologist and associate professor Dr. Andrew Wang has been elected to the prestigious The (ASCI), a singular honor for physician-scientists who spend part of their time treating patients and part conducting medical research. More than 3,000 physician-scientists from all different medical specialties are ASCI members with less than 100 added each year (out of hundreds of nominees).

ASCI is one of the country’s oldest medical honor societies, and dedicates itself to the advancement of medical treatment and the mentorship of future generations of physician-scientists.

Radiation therapist Craig Rifkin, BA, RT(R)(T) was the recipient of a 2017 ºÚÁÏÍø Health Care Oncology Excellence Award, which he received during a ceremony in the Tony Williams Main Lobby in the N.C. These annual awards recognize oncology employees who demonstrate exceptional work and devotion to individuals with cancer, their families and to the oncology profession.

The Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society

Dr. Ellen Jones and radiation oncology resident Dr. Jordan Holmes were inducted into the ºÚÁÏÍø chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society (AOA).

The AOA was founded in 1902, and its mission is dedicated to improving care in the profession of medicine. Inductees are selected from medical students, house staff, faculty and alumni who embody the values of AOA including scholarship, leadership, professionalism, research, altruism and clinical service.

The Department’s has been voted Number 25 nationally based on reputation in the 2017 Doximity rankings. We were honored in 2015 and 2016 as well.

is an online professional network for US physicians and is currently used by an estimated 60% of them (more than 500,000 members!). Physician members of Doximity are eligible to vote for the residency program rankings, as well as for the annual rankings.
