Staff Excellence Awards

Pharmacology’s Staff Excellence Award honors administrative and research staff whose performace goes above and beyond regular duties to make our community the special place it is.
Service & Outreach Award

Pharmacology’s Service & Outreach Award recognizes Graduate students and Postdocs for the difference they make by helping others through service and community outreach projects.
Thomas Collum Butler Award
Recipient: Cole Martin (Morris Lab)
The Thomas Collum Butler Award recognizes the outstanding work of a Graduate Student or Postdoc currently working in a core or joint PHCO lab. Selection is on the basis of merit and financial need.
Scholar Awards
Recipients: Coral Del Mar Alicea PaunetoÌý(Thaxton lab) , Brandon PrattÌý(Milner Lab), and Zeka ChenÌý(Song Lab)
Pharmacology’s Scholar Award recognizes meritorious contributions of PHCO Graduate students and PHCO Postdocs for the betterment of our department.
Chair’s Award
Recipient: Sy’Keria Garrison (Robinson Lab)
The Chair Award was created by our Chair, Henrik Dohlman, as a way to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of a person in our PHCO community.
Each awardee will receive a $1000 honorarium and certificate. In addition, The Thomas Collum Butler Awardee also receives support in the form of a graduate training stipend for one year from January 2025 – December 2025.
Along with the awards, the department enjoyed a family friendly holiday celebration that included a visit from Santa!
A special thank you to all the nominators for making life a bit more difficult for our awards committee, Maria Aleman, Rob Nicholas, Mauro Calabrese, and April Villanueva. I’d also like to thank the other volunteer organizers of this event, the people who arranged everything, in particular Mimi Baltz, Katherine Squires, Jessica Tran, Betsy Clarke, Doug Leonard and April Villanueva. We have the best of Santa’s helpers on our team.
