
Terry Noah, MD, Jacob A. Lohr Distinguished Professor of Pediatrics, has been selected by the Assembly on Pediatric (PEDS) Award Selection Committee to receive the Assembly on Pediatrics Lifetime Contributions to Pediatric Respiratory Medicine Award.
This award is given to a candidate who is recognized for achievement in teaching, clinical care, advocacy, scholarship or research over the course of his/her entire career. The award recognizes individuals who have contributed greatly to the specialty. Awardees are known for dedicating their life to the Advancement of Pediatric Respiratory Medicine.
Dr. Noah has been a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics and the Pulmonary Division for nearly 35 years. He has provided care for children with chronic lung diseases, taught medical students, residents and pulmonary fellows and engaged in research of chronic lung diseases. He has held numerous leadership roles, including Division Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology and Senior Vice Chair for the the Department of Pediatrics.
This award is given, based on nomination, to individuals at the Professor or Professor Emeritus level who are recognized for achievements in teaching, clinical care, research, advocacy, or scholarship over the course of their entire career. The individuals should be known for dedicating their life to the advancement of Pediatric Respiratory Medicine. This award honors the individual’s contributions which significantly enhanced child lung health. When the Society awards an honor, the honor reflects the Society’s judgment that the honoree’s contributions to, and effect on, the field are exemplary. The Society takes into account the totality of the individual’s work, professional conduct, ethics and reputation. It expects those who hold honors to embody highly professional and ethical conduct in their work and interactions with others during their careers.
