I am a health services researcher with expertise in medical decision making and patient reported outcomes of surgery. I have focused expertise in decision psychology, preference elicitation, shared decision making, and measurement of decision processes and outcomes. I recently completed an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality R18-funded study that implemented a decision aid for breast reconstruction, using integration into the electronic health record. In addition to being a scientist, I am a practicing oncologic reconstructive surgeon. I am a Director of the Board of the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
