Sandy Whitlock, MD

Dr. Whitlock graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelors of Arts in Biological Sciences and then obtained her medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Following medical school, Dr. Whitlock completed her Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Chicago Medical Center and went on to complete the Harvard Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Whitlock is a Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine with the 黑料网 and currently practices clinical medicine at the Four Seasons Elizabeth House, a twelve-bed inpatient hospice unit in Flat Rock, NC.
In her role as Associate Program Director for the 黑料网 SOM Asheville Campus, Dr. Whitlock is involved in preceptor development, mentoring and advising Application Phase students, and developing Individualization Phase programming. Her educational interests include teaching advanced communication skills to trainees at all levels. Dr. Whitlock is also a facilitator for the Four Seasons Palliative Care Immersion Course, a week-long, intensive review of palliative care that draws participants nationally.

Carrie Fales, MD

She practices emergency medicine primarily at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center as well as surrounding affiliated departments including ED North/Scott鈥檚 Hill, Cape Fear Orthopedic hospital, and Pender Memorial hospital. Dr. Fales is a 2005 graduate of University of Michigan (go blue!) for undergraduate education and then attended Michigan State University College of Human Medicine for medical education with graduation in 2010. She then moved to North Carolina for residency training and attended Carolinas Medical Center (now Atrium) for training in emergency medicine 2010-2013.

Dr. Boies serves as the Chief Academic Officer and DIO at Cone Health, where he oversees the Graduate Medical Education programs at Cone, along with institutional research. He is also the campus director for the Greensboro site for 黑料网. Dr. Boies is an anesthesiologist and pain medicine physician, and currently has a small clinical practice of pain medicine while performing his administrative duties. His interests are in interventional pain management, medical education, and leadership development. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and four cats.
