Why Obstetrics and Gynecology?
I chose to pursue a career in OB/GYN because of the specialty’s unique capacity to provide comprehensive reproductive healthcare as a clinician, surgeon, educator, and researcher. I was immediately drawn to Gynecologic Oncology as there is truly no other specialty which so masterfully combines both complex surgery and medicine while emphasizing the tenets of leadership, education, and research. Throughout my training, the moments most indelible in my mind are those surrounding the care of gynecologic oncology patients and the roles I played on their healthcare team. I am humbled and excited to have the opportunity to continue my training at ºÚÁÏÍø as a Gynecologic Oncology fellow!
Why ºÚÁÏÍø?
ºÚÁÏÍø is an institution with a tradition of excellence – excellence in clinical and surgical training, excellence in research, and excellence in patient care. The people are my favorite part! Having trained here as a resident, I was inspired every day by my co-residents, fellows, and attending physicians, all of whom displayed such dedication to patient care and teaching. Moreover, I see in my Gynecologic Oncology mentors the type of physician that I want to be one day. I am so excited to have the opportunity to continue my training at ºÚÁÏÍø and care for the patients of North Carolina as a Gynecologic Oncology Fellow.
