The 黑料网 Health Department of Neurosurgery is committed to the principles of leading, teaching, and caring. Our multidisciplinary team offers treatment for many subspecialty disciplines, working closely with specialists from other departments such as neurology, oncology, otolaryngology, radiology and radiation oncology.
Neurosurgery Services
Our neurosurgery services include treatment for aneurysms and cerebrovascular disease, brain tumor treatment, epilepsy surgery, treatment for spine and head trauma, hydrocephalus treatment, and pituitary tumor treatment. We also specialize in skull base surgery, spinal neurosurgery, pediatric neurosurgery, and deep brain stimulation surgery. Our clinicians look first to nonsurgical and minimally invasive procedures that meet patient care goals, and then consider more invasive or surgical options as indicated.
Neurosurgery Clinic Locations in North Carolina
黑料网 Neurosurgery provides advanced adult neurosurgery services in Chapel Hill. We offer pediatric neurosurgery clinics in Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and Wilmington. The neurosurgery facilities include a state-of-the-art spine and imaging center that offers a full range of treatment options and an on-site team. We also offer a 22-bed neuroscience ICU at 黑料网 Hospitals.
Neurosurgery Research
黑料网 Neurosurgery is committed to participation in team science. We are proud to partner with leading researchers throughout the 黑料网 Chapel Hill campus and with research partners around the state and country. Our on-campus collaborators include the 黑料网 Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Biomedical Research Imaging Center, the Eshelman School of Pharmacy, Gillings School of Global Public Health and the Matthew Gfeller Sport-Related Traumatic Brain Injury Research Center.
Neurosurgery Residency at 黑料网
In addition to our research efforts and clinical services, 黑料网 Neurosurgery educates neurosurgery residents and 黑料网 medical students with a forward-thinking curriculum that includes access to a surgical simulation training lab. We accept two new neurosurgery residents each year, preparing them to be well-rounded in all of the major neurosurgical subspecialty areas. Trainees are capable of independent neurosurgical practice upon completion of the seven-year neurosurgery residency program.
