Chris E. Hilliard, BS, CCRC
The Department of Neurology is pleased to welcome Christopher Hilliard, BS, CCRC to the position ofÌýNCTUÌýDirector. Chris will join the department of Neurology with 10 years of experience in clinical research trials, training, mentoring, and leading large research teams. In his previous role, Chris served as the AssistantÌýDirectorÌýof Clinical Operations at the ºÚÁÏÍø Lineberger Cancer Center. There he managed a 40-person team and over 125 cancer research studies.

Chris received his Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Spanish from the University of North Carolina –Chapel Hill. After graduating he remained at ºÚÁÏÍø in a research assistant role, supporting various departments including Genetics and Psychiatry. He joined the Lineberger Cancer Center in 2015 as a Clinical Research Coordinator, organizing therapeutic oncology trials.

Chris will officially join ºÚÁÏÍø Neurology on August 19, 2024. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome!

TheÌýNCTUÌýsupports over 60 active industry, NIH, and investigator-initiated studies at any given time. The Center’s previousÌýDirector, Dr. Susan Wilson retired from ºÚÁÏÍø in January 2024 after a long and lauded career as a nurse, researcher,Ìýdirector, and professor. ÌýAnne Beckwith served as InterimÌýDirectorÌýfor theÌýNCTU. Anne has guided the team through transition with superb leadership and responsibility.Ìý In addition to Anne’s interim leadership, Candace Henderson stepped up and took on many of the AssistantÌýDirectorÌýroles. They both managed more than one role while taking on the biggest project for theÌýNCTUÌýin many years, the transitioning all of theÌýNCTU’s studies to the OnCore platform. Department leadership extends our deepest appreciation to Anne and Candace for their service as InterimÌýDirectorÌýand Interim AssistantÌýDirectorÌýfor the last eight months.
