Areas of Interest

HIV pathogenesis and prevention strategies in women and children

About

The research in our group is focused on HIV pathogenesis and vaccine testing, with a special interest in pediatric HIV. To inform vaccine development, we are pursuing studies aimed at a deeper understanding of postnatal immune development in infants to optimize early-life vaccine strategies. Our research includes both basic research in nonhuman primates and translational research in collaboration with HIV clinicians. In the latter work, we have established collaborations with ºÚÁÏÍø Global Zambia to study HIV and pregnancy and how HIV infection in women impacts infant development.
