About
Dr. Young Whang is a medical oncologist specializing in genitourinary oncology. He completed the NIH-sponsored Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Chicago, obtaining MD and PhD (in Virology) degrees. After training at UCLA, he was recruited to the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the ºÚÁÏÍø for translational and clinical research and was one of the founding members of the Multidisciplinary Urologic Oncology Clinic. His clinical expertise is on treatment of patients with advanced genitourinary cancers, such as prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers. His research interests focus on improving understanding of genetics of cancer and development of novel targeted and immunotherapy agents as well as exercise oncology.
