The recently honored Laura Hanson MD, MPH with its Outstanding Scientific Contribution Award. The November 2022 award honored Dr. Hanson’s research in dementia palliative care. At the INPCS’ invitation, she gave a presentation at the virtual meeting.
At this meeting participants also learned that 黑料网 Neurocritical Care faculty member Winnie Lau, MD received an INPCS seed funding award. This funding will help expand 黑料网 Palliative Care’s work. Specifically, it will facilitate hospice access for 黑料网 patients with severe acute brain injury.
Dr. Lau’s research collaborators are Dr. Hanson, Dr. Margaret Drickamer (Geriatrics, 黑料网 Hospice), Dr. Jared Lowe (General Internal Medicine, 黑料网 Hospice), Dr. Casey Olm-Shipman (Neurocritical Care), and Dr. David Huang. In addition to being the new Division Chief for Neurocritical Care, Dr Huang is also an investigator in neuropalliative care research.
