About
My research interests have ranged from basic laboratory studies of the interactions between cells/cellular organelles with the coagulation system, to large case-control and prospective cohort studies in bleeding and clotting disorders. For many years, my laboratory has maintained an active interest in the mechanisms underlying the excessive activation of coagulation in several clinical disease states, including sickle hemoglobinopathies and cancer. More recently, we have developed novel assays to evaluate the roles of contact activation and fibrinolysis in human disease and in mouse models.
