DOM Medicine Grand Rounds- Dr. Rumey Ishizawar presents: “ºÚÁÏÍø Immuno-Oncology Group (IOG) Collaborative Efforts to Address Immune Related Adverse Events (irAEs)”

Dr. Rumey Ishizawar is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Program Director for the Adult Rheumatology Fellowship at ºÚÁÏÍø. She completed her MSTP training at the University of Virginia where her doctoral research was focused on Breast Cancer Cell Signaling through EGF Receptor Family members before pursuing Internal Medicine Residency and a Rheumatology Fellowship at Brigham Women’s Hospital. Her post-doctoral research included examining post translational regulation of cytokines and rheumatoid arthritis risk gene alleles in CD4+ T cell biology. She joined ºÚÁÏÍø faculty in July 2015 and initiated the ºÚÁÏÍø Immuno-Oncology Group (IOG) in 2017 which is focused on addressing immune-related adverse events triggered by immune checkpoint inhibitors in cancer patients through a collaborative model for both clinical care and research. Beyond her work with the ºÚÁÏÍø IOG, Dr. Ishizawar is involved in quality initiatives in medical education and management of patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
