From the first day as a teammate with the ºÚÁÏÍø Department of Medicine to many years down the road, you should feel a sense of purpose and belonging in your position. This starts during the on-boarding process with a smooth and motivating approach.ÌýAs you continue your time with the department it is important our teammates feel appreciated and recognized.

The Sense of Belonging Subcommittee has identified areas of opportunity that enhance the experiences of our teammates at both the divisional and departmental levels. By taking a three pillar approach, we are holistically impacting individual’s sense of belonging.


Our Initiatives

On-Boarding Process

A consistent on-boarding process will ensure department staff are receiving the needed information before their first day, feeling welcomed and comfortable when beginning their careers with DOM and then weeks following their arrival.

An on-boarding checklist, list of resources staff members need access to, explanatory information about the department and its units, and contact list is being developed.

DOM Staff Award

A DOM Staff Award will honor a Department of Medicine staff member who exemplifies exceptional dedication and leadership by taking ownership of their role, consistently achieving or surpassing goals, and going beyond the call of duty. Ìý

By implementing this award program, the ºÚÁÏÍø Department of Medicine will recognize and celebrate employee contributions, boost morale and foster a culture of appreciation within the company.Ìý
