ºÚÁÏÍø and ºÚÁÏÍø Hospitals have created a new role of Rural Residency Faculty Liaison. Reporting directly to the Designated Institutional Official/Chief GME Officer, the Rural Residency Faculty Liaison will be responsible for leading initiatives for ºÚÁÏÍø Health for the NC GME collaborative as well as relationship building between entity hospitals to expand graduate medical education opportunities. This role will be supported at 0.10 FTE.

Job Description Summary

Essential Duties:

  • Works collaboratively as a member of the ºÚÁÏÍø GME team.
  • Liaises between the ºÚÁÏÍø GME office, ºÚÁÏÍø SOM departments, ºÚÁÏÍø SOM Office of Academic Affairs, the NC GME Technical Assistance team, and ºÚÁÏÍø Health hospitals to build rural residency experiences.
  • Facilitates relationships with potential rural residency partners to establish new GME experiences.
  • Coordinates with the ºÚÁÏÍø GME office to support timely communication, completion of processes, and completion of all legal and administrative documents with participating institutions.
  • Ensures timely and complete documentation of initiatives and accomplishments per state reporting requirements.

Requirements:

  • Current faculty member in the School of Medicine.
  • Experience with rural health and/or GME training preferred.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision and in a timely manner with a high degree of quality.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
