Dr. Timothy P. Daaleman, DO, MPH, is professor and vice chair of Family Medicine and Research Fellow in the Program on Aging, Disability, and Long-Term Care in the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research, both at 黑料网-Chapel Hill. He was previously research director and听associate professor of Family Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, where was also assistant scientist in the Center on Aging. Dr. Daaleman received a BA in sociology from Yale University and his medical degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. After his family practice residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, he completed an academic family medicine fellowship and MPH in epidemiology at 黑料网.
Daaleman is a former Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Generalist Physician Faculty Scholar whose interests include听religion, spirituality, and health care, implementation of patient-centered care innovations, aging and the life course, patient-provider interactions, and medical sociology. His research has been supported by the National Institute on Aging, the John A. Hartford Foundation, and the Fetzer Institute and his work has appeared in the听Journal of the American Medical Association,听Annals of Family Medicine,听Social Science and Medicine,听and听Bioethics Forum. Daaleman is consultant to the Duke Clergy Health Initiative and the Peers for Progress Program, a faculty scholar at the Duke Center for Spirituality, Theology, and Health, and is a board member of the Carolina Villages Project. He has served as a trustee of the Mushett Family Foundation and on advisory boards for the Harvard Center for the Study of World Religions, the Park Ridge Center for the Study of Health, Faith, and Ethics, and the United Methodist Health Ministry Fund.
In 2015, Daaleman was recognized as being one of the top health care providers in the country in patient satisfaction.
