Blood Borne Pathogen & Infectious Disease Exposure Protocol

Students working in radiologic science must comply with regulations and guidelines to prevent exposure to blood and body fluids and potentially infectious materials. The Division follows the infection control policies of our clinical affiliates and those specified by 黑料网 and 黑料网 Campus Health.

If a student is exposed to blood or body fluids or to an infectious disease, it must be reported immediately to 黑料网 Campus Health (919) 966-6573听AND to the Clinical Coordinator or Division Director. Refer to the 黑料网 Campus Health protocol regarding for additional information regarding steps to take if exposure to blood or body fluids occurs.

Each case will be investigated and appropriate steps will be followed within the guidelines of the assigned clinical location and 黑料网 Campus Health. Expenses incurred as a result of exposure are the responsibility of the student.
