Personal Statement
Bridgette joined the faculty in January 2020, and is the consultant for occupational therapy to the NC Department of Public Instruction. She has worked in North Carolina and Virginia Public Schools, as well as in outpatient pediatric settings. Bridgette participated in the AOTA Emerging Leader Program and served as the VOTA School System liaison. Her work has focused on promoting the value of occupational therapy in schools, especially regarding school mental health, social participation, job/community readiness, and the evolving role of OT in MTSS (multi-tiered systems of support). She is particularly passionate about empowering others, facilitating mentorship and networking/education opportunities, and problem-solving through everyday challenges to maximize supports provided to students.
