Dr. Chuck Perou (Distinguished Professor) has renewed the 黑料网 Breast Cancer SPORE for years 30-34.
This SPORE grant is funded by the National Cancer Institute. Understanding and addressing racial disparities in breast cancer is a longstanding emphasis of this SPORE, and the Carolina Breast Cancer Study in particular, which will focus on a 鈥渃ells-to-society鈥� model wherein tumor biology and immune response are part of a complex system that includes differences in health care access and social environments. All four projects, which share a focus on triple-negative breast cancer that disproportionately afflicts Black and young women, will contribute to understanding across this spectrum.
