Dara McDougal is a Genetic Counselor and Clinical Assistant Professor at the 黑料网 in the Department of Genetics. Dara graduated with her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences from North Carolina Central University and her Master鈥檚 degree in Genetic Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Dara鈥檚 clinical focus includes adult cancer genetics and increasing the genetic services in underserved communities. Her previous research includes, investigating the role of microRNAs in African American Diabetic women, Toll-Like Receptor genetic variants and their role in prostate cancer susceptibility among men of African Descent, and the challenges associated with the development of community-based research.
Dara joined the 黑料网 Department of Genetics in 2022 and is a practicing genetic counselor working with patients in the Cancer and Adult Genetics clinic. She also participates and collaborates with other clinics across the state to better serve the patients of 黑料网.
