FMIG POCUS Workshop Series

We are excited to announce theÌýFMIG POCUS Workshop Series, a three-part hands-on workshop designed to enhance your POCUS skills. This series will be led by Drs. Ryan Paulus and James Durham.

Healer’s Art 2025

The dates for the 2025 session of The Healer’s Art Course have been set! The Healer’s Art course provides support for first- and second year (but is open to all years) medical students in recognizing, valuing, and preserving the human dimension of health care. Students and faculty participate together in a discovery model. The process-based curriculum enables students to appreciate the personal and universal meaning of medicine, in their daily lives!

The 15-hour elective course for students consists of 5 evening sessions. Each three-hour session is divided into a large-group and small-group experience.

Small groups are facilitated by physicians recruited from medical school faculty and the community practice. Each session builds upon the insights and content of the previous session. The five session topics are:
• Discovering and Nurturing Your Wholeness
• Sharing Grief and Honoring Loss (2 sessions)
• Beyond Analysis: Allowing Awe in Medicine
• The Care of the Soul: Service as a Way of Life

• Dates: January 9^th, 16^th, 30^th, February 6^th, and 20^th from 7-10pm.

Ìý–ÌýThe NCAFP Family Medicine Externship Program is a 4-week summer learning experience that exposes rising second-year medical students to the daily activities of family physicians

Ìý–ÌýImmerse Yourself in Rural and/or Underserved Health Care! NCAFP’s Rural Health Programs are (2)-week immersion experiences in rural family medicine in North Carolina.

Ìý–ÌýThe goal of NCAFP’s Leadership Elective is to increase a student’s knowledge of organized medicine and its role in medical education, including programs designed specifically for medical students and residents.

Ìý–ÌýThe North Carolina Academy provides a number of funding options to medical student members interested in family medicine.
