Areas of Interest
My lab studies how drugs of abuse such as alcohol and cannabinoids affect early embryonic development. Using a wide array of tools, we examine the long-term effects of early gestational drug exposure on behavior, anatomy and physiology in a mouse model of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD). The other major focus of our group is to ascertain the pathogenic mechanisms underlying these effects resulting from early ethanol exposures as well as genes that may alter susceptibility to FASD.
