nanoScan庐 SPECT/CT

The nanoScan SPECT/CT, a new addition to the SAI, is designed and manufactured by Mediso Ltd, an industry leader in the development of preclinical imaging systems.聽 The new imaging system replaces our legacy SPECT/CT system and will provide enhanced SPECT/CT imaging capabilities to the entire research community.

Main imaging features:

  • Wide isotope energy range (20-600 KeV)聽 capable of imaging therapeutic isotopes, including Lu-177, I-131, Bi-213, Ac-225, etc.
  • Patented1 M3-pinhole鈩� technology and Tera-Tomo鈩� 3D SPECT reconstruction algorithm to provide absolute quantification of SPECT images;
  • High sensitivity reaching 13000 cps/MBq, with sub-millimeter high resolution;
  • High throughput imaging with triple mouse imaging capability;
  • Capable of fast dynamic scan with full stationary imaging;
  • High resolution high speed CT imager with iterative reconstruction;
  • Animal beds integrated with vital sign monitoring;
  • Large imaging bore capable of imaging large animal models up to 6 kg;
  • Integrated intuitive InterView鈩� FUSION software package for easy visualization and analysis.

The new nanoScan SPECT/CT has been installed and is fully commissioned for preclinical imaging. The imaging core is optimizing the operation procedures and finalizing the SOP for the system.聽 Several imaging experiments have been tested with imaging probes labeled with 67颁耻,听131滨,听211At, etc.聽 We will continue working with each group to develop appropriate imaging protocols for specific imaging projects.聽 The system will be available for imaging evaluation at no charge until May 30th. Study Initiation, Training and Scheduling

The majority of SPET/CT imaging studies are conducted with SAI staff support.聽 To initiate a SPET/CT imaging study, please send an email to bricsai@med.unc.edu to schedule a meeting and register your project by following the study initiation link.聽 You can also see our study initiation page for more details.

Cost

The current internal rate for SPECT/CT imaging and staff support is $161/hr and $53/hr.聽 Imaging time is highly dependent upon the study protocol so please contact the SAI for budget information.聽 You can also see our rates at this link.
