Ana Sachetto, PhD, is now a co-chair of the International Postdoc Alliance of the ºÚÁÏÍø Postdoctoral Association.
The University of North Carolina Postdoctoral Association (PDA) is a peer-led volunteer organization dedicated to addressing the needs and concerns of all ºÚÁÏÍø postdocs. PDA works closely with the  to provide resources for professional development, generate awareness about problems common to all postdocs, and to foster a sense of community among postdoctoral scholars.
In 2022, Ana completed her PhD in Medical Sciences at the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) and moved to the US to work as a postdoc in Mackman Lab at the ºÚÁÏÍø Blood Research Center. As part of her research, Ana is focused on the study of the roles of Toll-like receptor 4 and NLRP3 inflammasome in lipopolysaccharide induction of tissue factor and activation of coagulation. In 2024 she was awarded an American Heart Association Postdoctoral Fellowship. Ana is passionate about Science, but she is also passionate about caring for people and animals. She enjoys volunteering in outreach projects, hosting people at her house and spending time with her two dogs.
