This week we are highlighting BCBP grad students and recent alumni for Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week. Dr. Jibo 鈥淒ylan鈥� Zhang of the Strahl lab successfully defended his Ph.D. in the Fall. His current position is Process Development Scientist at KBI Biopharma. Congrats to Dr. Zhang!

National Academy of Sciences announced on January 24, 2022, that Carrie Partch Ph.D., Professor of chemistry & biochemistry at UC-Santa Cruz, has received an Award in Molecular Biology, recognizing a 鈥渞ecent notable discovery in molecular biology by a young scientist who is a citizen of the US.鈥� Dr. Partch is an alumna of Biochemistry and Biophysics and the Aziz Sancar lab.

Pat Lackey, PhD, Biochemistry and Biophysics and Marzluff lab alumnus will be on Jeopardy THURSDAY NIGHT, January 20 on ABC channel 11 at 7 PM!

The American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) has announced that a 2022 Molecular Pharmacology Early Career Award will be presented to Dr. Matthew Torres. (Borchers lab & Dohlman lab alum)

Conserved helix-turn-helix motif contributes differentially to #polyubiquitination in various #cellcycle E2 enzymes - via distinct donor/acceptor #ubiquitin interactions. A collaborative effort led by Kaeli Welsh (黑料网 Pharmacology) who is the lead author amongst the colleagues, Nick Brown (Pharmacology) and Joe Harrison (a former postdoc in Kuhlman lab) and in BCBP (Josh Boyer, Brenda Temple, Derek Bolhuis, Qi Zhang) and other colleagues.
