We are pleased to introduce Dr. Shota Kudo, our new Visiting Scholar in the Kuhlman lab. Dr. Kudo comes from Japan and has an impressive background in pharmaceutical research. Shota obtained his PhD at the University of Tokyo.
For the past nine years, he has contributed his expertise at Daiichi Sankyo, one of Japan’s leading pharmaceutical companies, where he has been focused on innovative drug development. Dr. Kudo’s current research interest is in the computational protein design and his career goal is to generate groundbreaking drugs that can save countless lives.Ìý

Dr. Kudo is also an avid soccer enthusiast, having followed the Real Madrid team passionately for the last fifteen years. Despite the time difference, he has managed to watch every single game live from Japan, even when the matches were broadcast at 5 am.Ìý
In addition to his professional and academic pursuits, Dr. Kudo has a strong interest in cooking. His favorite dish to prepare is Japanese-style dumplings, although he has found sourcing ingredients in the USA to be challenging.Ìý
