Since joining the Strahl Lab in the Spring of 2022, Nguyen has been conducting research on the non-catalytic function of SETD2, a well-known histone methyltransferase. His work, which focuses on the interaction between SETD2, lamin proteins, and CDK1 to maintain nuclear morphology and genome stability, has been highly regarded.Ìý

Nguyen has also been the recipient of the SURF Summer Research Award and the Chancellor’s Award in Biology. His success is a testament to his dedication and the exceptional mentorship provided by Dr. Abid Khan and Dr. Brian Strahl, who have played pivotal roles in guiding and supporting his research endeavors.Ìý

Colleagues in the Strahl Lab expressed admiration for the incredible job done by Dr. Strahl and Dr. Khan in mentoringÌýNguyen, emphasizing that their support has been instrumental in his achievements.Ìý

The Strahl Lab continues to shine as a beacon of excellence, nurturing young researchers and contributing significantly to the scientific community.Ìý
