This study identifies a female-enriched microRNA locus on the X chromosome, which is predominantly expressed in cardiac tissue. The researchers specifically focused on one of these microRNAs, miR-871, demonstrating that it reduces the cardiac conduction prhttps://lnkd.in/gUXYv65yotein sarcalumenin in females. This reduction influences calcium signaling and contributes to the observed differences in cardiac electrophysiology. Presenting an intriguing concept and highly commendable study.
