The Carolina Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program has contributed to the NC Statewide plan to address Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias. Here are some of our contributions.Our funders, the Health Services and Resources Administration have developed 3 free courses on dementia. Sixteen modules address interprofessional care, four modules help providers engage caregivers as allies and seven modules address caregiver’s concerns. .
The Center for Aging and Health has independently received a grant from the Duke Endowment to train 100% of the staff in five NC Hospitals to better meet the needs of dementia patients and their families. Learn more about the Dementia Friendly Hospital Initiative.
